The MCL has many goals, aspirations, and dreams, and they have been made possible thanks to the grand efforts of thousands of supporters that believe in the work that the MCL performs and treasure natural resources. Our short term and long term goals for the future are:
a. The establishment and consolidation of the infrastructure in different sectors of the BEN. This will make possible an improved sale of ecotourism services, as well as better labor conditions (refuges for park guards in distant patrol sites in the BEN, and a permanent office on the Atlantic side of the property).
b. The consolidation of the BEN, which means the implementation of the Territorial Ordinance Project. This will allow the MCL to obtain title for all of its properties, as well as the definition of judicial processes.
c. The strengthening and development of community focused activities, such as environmental education, reforestation, and forest extension.
d. Promotion of the MCL and BEN on a regional, national, and international level.
e. Self-sufficiency in terms of finances, which will allow the existence of an endowment fund. This will guarantee the perpetuity of the organization and decrease its dependence upon occasional donors.
